Training: Rides*

All groups are expected to obey all road traffic rules. Please share the road and be safe. All rides require helmets.

For everyone's safety, all riders should review group ride etiquette before participating. One suggested article is at this link. Also, see Texas rules of the road.

These are not official STARRS rides, and time changes often happen via word of mouth before STARRS is informed, so if you are new to a group, it is a good idea to contact one of the bike contact people to confirm details before showing up.

Key to Levels

"A" group rides will consist of high tempo surges, and tight pace line & echelon riding. Speeds can reach 35+ mph on flat, windward sections of the I-37 access roads.

"B-C" group rides are ideal for new or slower riders who want to train at a slower pace before moving up to "A" rides. Also recommended for riders who want to have a leisurely, more relaxed ride and make new friends. No one gets left behind and group help is provided for flats and other problems.
